Sing with Camerata

Camerata welcomes new singers,
especially Sopranos, Tenors and Basses...

If you would like to sing with Kettering Camerata, please contact either Ann Burridge, (Choir Secretary) 01536 513955 or Jonathan Sheldon (Musical Director) 01536 350154.

We don't hold auditions, but most of us read music (a little at least!).

New singers are invited to come along to several rehearsals and make up their mind if this is the choir for them.
Rehearsals are held in on Tuesdays in term time 7.30-9.30pm in St Andrews Church, Rockingham Road, Kettering (just opposite Sainsburys).

Choir members are expected to attend rehearsals regularly and give notice when they will be absent.  Membership fee is just £40 a term.

We give three main concerts a year, drawing on mainstream choral works in our Autumn and Spring progammes and a lighter approach in the Summer.  Occasionallly we have additional  informal commitments as a choir and members are usually given the option to attend or not.

Programmes in the past few years have included:

Summer 2012:  Merrie England.  A light collection of English music for the Jubilee!

Easter 2012: Karl Jenkins' The Armed Man with Vivaldi's Gloria

Summer 2011:  'Thankyou for the music' - a varied programme with everything from Byrd to Abba!

Easter 2011:  Faure Requiem, Bernstein Chichester Psalms

December 2010:  Rutter Gloria, Schutz Psalm 150, Chilcott Gloria

Summer 2010:   An American programme for Independence Day

Easter 2010: Mozart Requiem, Bruckner 4 Motets and Finzi Dies Natalis (Tenor and Orchestra)

December 2009:  Poulenc Gloria, Britten Rejoice in the Lamb, Faure Cantique do Jean Racine

Summer 2009:  Light programme of partsongs by Finzi, Elgar, Cole Porter and other songs from the shows

Easter 2009:  Bach St John Passion  (with orchestra and soloists from the Royal Academy)
