Kettering Camerata is a four part mixed choir of around 30 singers who enjoy working together to present concerts of choral works from Byrd to Beatles, in and around Kettering and East Northamptonshire. We rehearse during term times on Tuesday evenings, 7.30-9.30pm, at St Andrew's Church, Rockingham Road (just over the road from Sainsburys).
We don't hold auditions, but most of us read music (a little at least!). We have three main concerts a year, drawing on mainstream choral works in our Autumn and Spring progammes and a lighter approach in the Summer. In the last few years, for instance, we have performed Selection from Merrie England, Jenkins' The Armed Man, Mozart and Faure Requiems, Rutter and Poulenc Glorias, Bernstein Chichester Psalms.... as well as a wide range of lighter part songs from Gibbons to Cole Porter. We also sing at the Kettering Eisteddfod and have been asked to sing at the opening concert for 2013.
